Understanding your team metrics

You’ll see some charts at the top of the team page to help you understand more about the events you’re having with the members of your team so you can make adjustments if you need to.

You can switch the time period you’d like to see data from by selecting either “all time” or “this quarter” in the dropdown below the charts.

Who am I meeting most?

This chart gives you a breakdown of all the past events from your calendar in your Ctrl.io account (excluding team events) that you’ve had with each person on your team. It’s based on the number of events.

So if you notice that you’ve had more interactions with one person than everyone else, you can decide if you’re ok with that or if it’s highlighting an issue that you need to deal with.

Or you might see that one person hasn’t had much one-to-one time with you compared to everyone else, and you decide that means you need to schedule up some time with them.

Note: You don’t need to have added any notes or actions for an event to be included in this chart.

What type of events are we having?

This chart shows which event types you’re having more of. It’s based on the number of events where you’ve used each template, so it excludes events that have no notes. Where you see event type of “General team event” those are the events where you’ve added notes directly without applying a template.

This chart can give you a quick indication of the balance between things like pipeline reviews, 1:1s or quick chats so you can see if something is missing. Maybe you want to make sure you’re doing enough development 1:1s and not just check-ins, or maybe you want to make sure you have some specific coaching sessions as well as your recurring events.

Which type of events are actions coming from?

In this chart, you’ll see a slice for each event type where you created actions, and the number tells you how many actions from that event type.

It can help you see if most of the actions you create come from pipeline reviews for example, but you seldom have actions from 1:1s or quick chats. This can help you decide if you want to start adding more actions from 1:1s so that you are clearer about development commitments and can follow up easily from one event to the next.

Note: the count includes actions of any status, not just open ones.
